Jenni Szlosek Chow
Dr. Jenni Szlosek Chow is a chemical oceanographer and the Community Program Manager for Ocean Discovery League. Previously she was the Education and Outreach Manager for the Open Ocean Initiative at the MIT Media Lab. Jenni is an MIT alumna with a BS in Earth Atmospheric and Planetary Sciences. She graduated from Stony Brook University with a Ph.D. in Marine Sciences, where she studied phytoplankton aggregation and the carbon cycle of the ocean. Jenni was also formerly an adjunct lecturer at Queens College and Columbia University.
As the Community Program Manager, she develops and facilitates research and educational outreach projects and virtual community workshops with colleagues to train participants on using low-cost ocean exploration tools. She provides ongoing support and mentoring for the Maka Niu sensor testing project.
Her work is highly collaborative and allows her to work with passionate educators and explorers worldwide.
